| Objective on the basis of need | Production of antibacterial material from Zn/Al/Cu mixed oxide which is to be mixed with cement to make antibacterial cement |
| Executive summary of the proposed project (In 250 words) | The proposed antibacterial material is a thermally treated Zn/Al/Cu mixed oxide which is found to be having antibacterial property. When this product is mixed with cement in certain ratio the mixed cement also exhibits the antibacterial property. This cement is useful in making bathroom toilet, kitchen, hospital floors as well as inner liner material of cement water tanks as well as normal flooring material. It is most useful for the floors mostly exposed to water which is bacteria prone. It can be used for inner liner of domestic water tanks, larger public service water tanks supplying water to whole city, rain water harvesting tanks etc. It gives constant protection against bio-slime formation which is normally observed in water prone surfaces. Those slimes are nothing but bacterial growths. This is the finishing layer of the cement casting not the load bearing concrete. Its use is in the final layer of the area where customer wishes to use. |
