| Objective on the basis of need | Government of India (GoI) has launched National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) in which the "Safety" of technologies to be implemented is very important. Indigenously developed electroic hydrogen and ammonia leak detectors (EHLD and EALD) would serve this purpose. |
| Executive summary of the proposed project (In 250 words) | Electronic hydrogen leak detector has been manufacured recently by CSIR-NIIST in collaboration with an industry partner. In this project, the size and weight of EHLD would be reduced to make it suitable for the commerical applications. Moreover, EHLD would be modified to sense amminia gas leaks also. Attempt would be made to utilize a single detector for detecting leaks in hydrogen and ammonia gases. |
| Technology Readiness Level (If not a new project but an advancement of existing know how) | 4 |
| Outomes or Deliverables | Electronic detector which can sense hydrogen and ammonia leaks. |
| Project aligned with which most relevant UN SDGs | Goal 7 - Affordable & Clean Energy |
| Duration (In years) | 2 years |
| Expected Impact | Useful for indian transport and fertilizer industries which generate, store, transport, and utilize green hydrogen and green ammonia |
| Implementation model (self- implemented/ outsourced partnership) | self-implemented |
| Total Budget (Recurring +Non-Recurring Expenses) | 100 Lakh |
