Project Detail
Objective on the basis of need

Government of India (GoI) has launched National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) in which the "Safety" of technologies to be implemented is very important. Indigenously developed electroic hydrogen and ammonia leak detectors (EHLD and EALD) would serve this purpose.

Executive summary of the proposed project (In 250 words)

Electronic hydrogen leak detector has been manufacured recently by CSIR-NIIST in collaboration with an industry partner. In this project, the size and weight of EHLD would be reduced to make it suitable for the commerical applications. Moreover, EHLD would be modified to sense amminia gas leaks also. Attempt would be made to utilize a single detector for detecting leaks in hydrogen and ammonia gases.
